My name is: DJ Tom Loud, from Hot Dub Time Machine
I sound like: Every great song you love and have forgotten about dug up and served fresh in a time-traveling super dance party!
Inspired by: Marty McFly
I reside in: Inner West, Sydney
My local music scene is: Great!
The most annoying thing about my scene is: Hot Dub is a reaction to Dance Parties and DJs being a bit serious and cool. It’s the fun alternative to stuck-up nightclubs.
My best gig to date was: Falls Festival, Byron Bay, mainstage before the Roots.
The song that gets me dancing is: I really love playing ‘Born to be Wild’ and a ‘Little Less Conversation’ during the 60’s part of the show. Warm ups are over once they are on.
First album I bought: C and C music Factory, cassingle: “Everybody Dance Now”
My musical youth involved: I played percussion in the school Orchestra and it was awesome.
Pop music is: Great! Throughout history good and bad music has been constantly released, the key is finding the good ones.
If I could have written any song it would have to be: Hey Jude. Possibly the most perfect pop song ever written.
Do you play Fifa? If not, do you have a favourite game? I play a lot of Starcraft 2. I’ve got the gosu micro.
Favourite Restaurant: BBQ king. Pork, Duck and Rice is the finest $13 meal anywhere.
The thing I hate most about bloggers is: I ain’t a hater
My musical guilty pleasure is: There’s no such thing. Worrying about whether music is credible is lame.
The sporting team I follow is: I love Cricket.
If I weren’t a musician I would be: If I wasn’t a DJ I would be a very unhappy sound engineer.
