Parklife Q&A Series: Alison Wonderland

For this years upcoming Parklife we’ll be giving some of the line up our Destroy White Boy Q&A treatment. I’m sure you’ve all seen the line up check out the official line up video below. To kick things off we have  Alison Wonderland who has thrilled dancefloors all over Australia and I’m sure will be doing the same at Parklife. Go check out some of her remixes on her official page. She was kind enough to answer our questions, and from some of the answers I think she might be my much better looking, more talented twin from the north. Tekken, Celtics Graceland and dressing up as Scary Spice!

I play in: Pants and a tshirt

Inspired by: DJ AM, Nu Mark, George Harrison, James Murphy, Dr Seuss, The Knife, my grandpa, the smell of freshly cut grass

I reside in: Sydney

Our local music scene is: needing more live venues!

The most annoying thing about our scene is: closed minded people.

My best gig to date was: the Secret Garden Festival – the vibe there was beyond explanation!

The song that gets me dancing is: “Graceland” – Paul Simon. But last night I had “Higher Ground” by tnght on repeat in my room and couldn’t stop jumping.

First album I bought: ‘Music For The Jilted Generation’ – The Prodigy and ‘Siamese Dream’ by The Smashing Pumpkins on the same day.

My musical youth involved: The Beatles, The Eurythmics, Gershwin & Bach

Pop music is: NOT a swear word. I miss good pop music.

If I could have written any song it would have to be: either “Your Song” Elton John, “A Day in the Life” the Beatles or “Silent Shout” by The Knife.

Do you play Fifa? I used to, on PS2. I was really bad at it, I preferred Tekken.

Favourite Restaurant: Miss G’s in Darlinghurst

The thing I hate most about bloggers is: when they hate for the sake of hating! But I love bloggers who spread the word of good music.

My Musical Guilty Pleasure is: The Spice Girls – I used to dress up as Scary Spice for some reason as a kid.

The sporting team I follow is: Celtics

If I weren’t a musician I would be: A dinosaur.
